CANVAS lacquer Brickworks Hike

While I thought I was over wearing fall colours, as soon as I received a surprise package from CANVAS lacquer, I was immediately drawn to Brickworks Hike, which is part of their CANVAS The City Fall/Winter Collection.

I think the reason was because it is unique in colour and I don't have many (if any) colours like it; it reminds me of cinnamon or nutmeg with the added bonus of glitter throughout!

Started with a base of three coats of CANVAS lacquer Brickworks Hike**.   I was a little skeptical that two (or even three) coats would make the polish opaque as one coat  provided little colour; I was questioning myself if I shouldn't have layered it over a complimentary colour.  But it did build up nicely; two coats have good coverage but three added more glitter interest and ensured it was opaque so no VNL shows (not a fan of it on me).  This has no topcoat.

CANVAS lacquer Brickworks is described on the Etsy shop as "a fiery brick red jelly loaded with brown microglitter, a mix of red holo hex, deep yellow, apricot squares and the occasional yellow biggie.  It doesn't get more autumnal than this - especially in our neck of the woods (Southern Ontario). This is very reminiscent of the changing leaves."  I have to say I couldn't agree more; this is a perfect fall shade!

Stamped using CND Gold Chrome using an image from Marianne n.36.  I thought this was a great image choice in that it added stamped interest but let the beauty of the polish shine underneath.

Topped with KBShimmer Clearly on Top to finish.

Different lighting; can see translucency of glitter better but it is darker as shown in pix above.

CANVAS lacquer Brickworks Hike and other CANVAS lacquers incuding their just released Holiday polishes are available via their Etsy shop here!

CANVAS lacquer has a discount code for use now until December 31, 2014 too!

Thanks for looking!
